As a participant in the Young Heroes platform, you have the right to:
- Be treated with dignity, respect, and fairness at all times by all support workers, families, and others using the platform.
- Choose your preferred support worker and services in accordance with your needs and preferences. You have the right to change your support worker or withdraw from any services at any time, subject to agreed-upon service agreements.

- You have the right to be fully informed about the services you will receive, including any potential risks. Support workers must obtain your consent before providing any services.
- You have the right to receive services that meet acceptable professional standards and are delivered competently, safely, and appropriately for your needs. Support workers must be trained, qualified, and appropriately insured for the services they provide.
- You are entitled to receive services in an environment that is free from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and mistreatment. Any instances of abuse or neglect should be reported immediately to Young Heroes.
- You have the right to raise concerns, provide feedback, and file complaints about the services you receive or the conduct of support workers, families, or any other platform users. Complaints will be handled promptly and fairly, and you will not face any retaliation for expressing concerns.
- You are entitled to access support and assistance when necessary, whether from Young Heroes, family members, or support workers. You can request additional support, services, or resources if needed.
2. Participant Safeguards
To protect your rights and ensure your safety while using Young Heroes services, we implement the following safeguards:
- Background Checks: All support workers undergo comprehensive background checks before they are allowed to join the platform. This includes criminal record checks and verification of qualifications and insurance to ensure their eligibility to work with vulnerable individuals.
- Service Agreements: All services must be agreed upon in writing, including clear expectations regarding the roles and responsibilities of both parties. Support workers must adhere to the terms of these agreements to ensure transparency and mutual understanding.
- Confidentiality Measures: All sensitive participant information, including personal details and service records, is encrypted and stored securely. This ensures that your data remains confidential and protected from unauthorized access.
- Training and Development: Support workers are encouraged and required to complete training in areas such as child safety, first aid, emergency procedures, and relevant care guidelines to ensure they are prepared to provide safe and effective care.
- Regular Monitoring: Young Heroes may monitor services to ensure that participants receive appropriate care and that services meet the required standards. We may conduct regular reviews and audits of service delivery and engage in open communication with both participants and support workers.
- Complaint Handling: We have an established and accessible process for participants to raise concerns or complaints about their services. All complaints will be taken seriously, investigated, and acted upon promptly. No participant will be penalized or mistreated for raising a concern.
- Equal Opportunity: Young Heroes is committed to providing services that are accessible to all participants, regardless of background, ethnicity, disability, gender, or other factors. We promote inclusivity and diversity within our platform and will not tolerate any form of discrimination.
